This 1883 Alfred Giles designed building is the centerpiece of this project and is known as the Soladad Block and  University Building.  Limestone walls, hardwood floors, light and space will remain the hallmarks of this landmark building. The middle building was once the Savoy Hotel, what tales those old walls could tell. The three buildings that make 116-132 East Houston are currently undergoing a complete refurbishment.

In February 2000 the Revel Group purchased the building.  Reconstruction on this building began almost immediately to bring the building back to its original splendor.  Though the corner of the building, which was removed for the enlargement of Soladad Street, cannot be replaced, the cornice and column detail was re-created.

In January 2001, the Houston Street building was proud to become the home of Guerra, DeBerry and Coody, a local PR and advertisement firm.  Guerra, DeBerry and Coody are currently occupying the entire second floor finally bringing their firm’s corporate offices under one roof.

Now that this beautiful building is restored, it holds its position as a keystone in San Antonio's plans for the revitalization of Houston Street and reminds us that the beauty of the past can continue to well serve the needs of the present.  The Revel Group is committed to expansion, redevelopment, and restoration of area real estate with special buildings, like this one, in the downtown area.
